The Saints of the Shippensburg Church of Christ
The Saints The saints are the members of our congregation, those who have been baptized into the body of Christ. Other than the office of an Elder, there is no scriptural authority for positions of authority to be held by any individual, within the Church. The Shippensburg Church of Christ have three elders who shepherd the flock among them in the spiritual realm. Assisting them are four deacons who tend to the physical matters of the congregation.
The word Church refers to those who have been "called out" to serve God. The local church is the collective body of those people that worship together, and this has nothing to do with the facilities in which they worship. The focus of the Church is its people. We are a family that loves one another and bears one another's burdens. -John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
